I have over a decade of experience and proven track record in building brands and leading diverse projects across advertising, digital experiences, identity, packaging, in-store collateral, marketing promotions, social channels, direct response, and events.
I attended Concordia College in Minnesota, pursuing a degree in Business—but found what "I wanted to be when I grew up" when I took a graphic design course just for fun. Soon after, I took the plunge to pursue a second degree (and a second set of student loans) at Academy of Art University in San Francisco where I received a B.F.A. in 2005.
After graduation, I worked at Noise13, Sequence and fuseproject working on brands like MySpace (when they were still a big deal), Disney, Jawbone, and Chipotle.
As a Design Director at Sequence, leading the Chipotle account, I developed a true passion for the burrito chain’s mission and brand, which led me to pack my bags and head to New York in 2011 to build and lead Chipotle’s in-house design efforts.
Today, I lead a small (and dedicated) team of designers, copywriters, project managers and agency partners to create Chipotle’s marketing touch points across their global footprint.
I have a true passion for finding and developing young, creative talent and building strong multi-disciplinary teams. I’ve mastered the art of giving thorough, critical feedback with kindness and humor (aka without making people cry). I have a fine-tuned attention to detail and design aesthetic, but am able to think about the big picture and maintain focus on strategic business goals. I love what I do and take serious pride in the work my team creates.
Important to note is that I've still got a pretty distinctive Minnesotan accent even though I left the motherland over 17 years ago and have a penchant for making a lot of dad jokes (for lack of a better term). Some say these characteristics are endearing? Let's meet and you can be the judge.
